Man Fly Fishing Jackson Hole

6/13/2022 Jackson Hole Region Fishing Report

Snake River (Jackson Hole)

Due to recent rain-fall and run-off, the rivers are dirty and high. Volume out of Jackson Lake has been increasing over the past week from 2400 to 2700 CFS. We're expecting run-off to subside in the coming weeks and fishing will get better.

South Fork of Snake River

Flows have decreased down to 7900 CFS at Irwin. Palisades Reservoir is dirty from the run-off and the south fork is a little murky although some have reported some success with rubber-legs and still some action on egg patterns. We expect the salmon fly hatch to be a little later than usual this year due to cold weather, everything seems a little late.

Greys River

The Greys is running high and dirty.

Salt River

The Salt is also still high and dirty, although the tributaries from the west (Idaho) are clearing quickly and starting to fish. We expect at least another week of high flows and then should see some clearing water. Stone flies, terrestrials, and nymphs have been working well on clearing tributary waters.
