Snake River (Jackson Hole)
Due to recent rain-fall and run-off, the rivers are dirty and high. Volume out of Jackson Lake has been increasing over the past week from 2400 to 2600 CFS. We're expecting run-off to subside in the coming weeks and fishing will get better.
South Fork of Snake River
Flows have increased this week to just over 9000 CFS at Irwin. The river is fairly dirty this week (more so than last week). Palisades Reservoir is dirty from the run-off and the south fork is murky. Fishing has been reported as decent with some mayfly hatches and anglers are seeing some success with rubber-legs and other subsurface flies.
Greys River
The Greys is starting to clear and is fishable. Use small, light colored mayfly imitations, yellow sally, and nymphs. Clarity should improve over the coming week or two and settle into summer fishing conditions.
Salt River
The Salt is still fairly murky, but the edges are starting to clear. Tributaries to the salt are clearing, including swift creek and cottonwood and we expect the salt to follow over the next week. Reports of some stone flies late last week had us excited, but one of our guides floated and the fish weren't interested in them as the water was likely still too dirty. We expect clarity to improve, but it may be too late for the stone flies this year. Try fishing nymphs, rubber-legs, and mayfly emergers.
