The Phelps Grey Amp Elk Call is one of the all-time greatest elk calls.  

This is James Barnes' favorite elk call of all time and has been the means of many an elk getting shot with an arrow.  

"The reason it is my favorite diaphragm call is because you can make a variety of calls and sounds with it and it still makes a pretty elk whistle.  You can apply a lot of pressure and it just sounds better."

This isn't the best call to use for cow sounds, but it will get you by in a pinch.  It's intended to imitate large mature bulls and all the beautiful sounds they make.
